Milan Fashion Week has begun and we’re taking a look into all the SS18 runway jewelry details.

VERSACE:  The show paid recognition to the late Gianni Versace. Sister and designer Donatella extracted from the Versace archives and presented a collection that paid tribute to some of Gianni’s most successful Versace collections – Baroque, Vogue and Warhol.  The jewels consisted of ornate beaded crosses, studded crystal starfish, oversized printed ‘V’ earrings with the letter charms that dangled down and spelled out the word “Vogue” and  iconic gold coins that had the Versace logo on them.Versace Ss18Versace Ss18Versace Ss18Versace Ss18Versace Ss18Versace Ss18Versace Ss18ROBERTO CAVALLi: The collection looked fit for a safari and consisted of  wide silver bangles adorned with animal prints, wood bracelets studded with neutral earth tone stones and rose gold mismatched earrings. Jewelry Details from Gucci SS18 Collection

You can tell by Alessandro Michele’s Instagram account where he draws inspiration and ideas from for his collections. Although the clothes reflected  ’70s glam rock with a definite influence from Sir Elton John, the jewelry tells of another story.

Piles of silver chains adorned with animal heads topped off with turquoise stones and accented with faux tusks melded together with double G logo chains. Vibrant triple strand coral necklaces were paired with rhinestone encrusted drop earrings.

Bracelets were stacked on the models’ wrists and we were hooked on the large pearl necklaces with the gem set double G logo. With Gucci, one jewel is never enough and that’s how we like it!Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18Gucci SS18

Jeremy Scott Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear Collection

The nineties are back!!! according to Jeremy Scott’s final looks from his Spring 2018 collection were of giant 3-D jewels that were connected over stretchy body-stocking dresses, which he described as “a Calder sculpture that kind of collided with a disco ball.” Giant body jewels? A style only Jeremy Scott could come up with and make it work on the runway.

Jewelry Details at Rodarte Fall Winter 2017 Ready-To-Wear Show

We thought about the book ‘Charlotte’s Web,’” explained designer Laura Mulleavy. “There’s a romance to the story that we used to read when we were children, and we first came up with the idea when we saw a black widow on our building’s outside. We said: ‘Let’s do a collection about ‘Charlotte’s Web’ — and leather.’ We wanted to use things that are very Rodarte.” (

This collection had a magical fairy tale quality to it. Rodarte designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy showcased metallic details in contrasting gold and silver filigree jewelry and adorned them with ruby and amethyst colored stones. Ornate cuff bracelets with gold tassels, large filigree chandelier earrings,  oversized floral and oval statement rings embellished the fingers, ears and arms of the models turning them into nymphs from the pages of fairy tales.

Jewelry Details at Balmain Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear Show

“It’s all about a return to the forces of nature. I wanted to create strong Amazons. Women’s power today is extremely important, and I think I reflect that with this collection. It’s very feminist,” Olivier Rousteing, Head Designer of Balmain said backstage (

Rousteing transformed the models into tribal goddesses with metallic  lip rings, leather cuff bracelets that were accented with gold studs or coins, chokers and tortoise shell and black lacquer colored minauderies with gold chain tassels that acted as necklaces.
